Scraps: I Have a Few

Yeah, I have a few scraps...a few MILLION!  Here they are! After yesterday's post about the Scrap Happy Swap on Craftster, I decided to gather them all together to see exactly what I had.  From the back of the closet and the top shelf above the washing machine, from under my sewing table and behind my sewing chair, I gathered together all my bags and boxes of scrap fabric.

I want to give them away!  Soon after yesterday's post was published, announcing the scrap giveaway, I got my first request...and my only request.  So I thought I would show you what you could expect to receive if you request a packet too--they are good scraps!  Not tiny bits, but mostly big strips that you can really use. This picture shows the scraps next to the business-size envelope they will arrive in:

And just to show how useful they are, I made this cute little pouch from them!  The front flap and back are all scraps; the lower front and lining are single larger pieces:

Here's something else you could make with these scraps:  a patchwork fabric bracelet.

So leave a comment here, or under yesterday's post, and then click on my name at right to access my e-mail on my profile page.  If you e-mail me your name, mailing address, and color choice, I will send you an envelope of scraps to get you started on your own scrappy patchwork project.  I'm looking forward to hearing from LOTS of readers!!  C'mon, what are you waiting for??

Oh goodness, I'd love to do this... I feel like I'm just starting out again on my fabrics because it's been a couple years since I've seen most of my stash! I'll be e-mailing you! (I hope you don't mind!)

I want scraps!!! I want scraps!! Um, I mean, may I please have some scraps? lol, I cracked up when I read that you gathered them from behind your chair, cause I have some scraps there too. I like pinks or reds or yellows, or whatever! I'm trying to figure out how to sign up for the swap - sounds fun!

OMG!!! I thought I had a lot of bits - but think thats more than my whole stash!

If you are desperate to get rid of them - feel free to pass them this way :p

I usually play fairly safe when buying fabrics, so to get some that are outside my comfort zone would be interesting!

Hi Leslie!

I found my way here through your craftster post and I think I'm going to have to take you up on your offer! I'm really interested in trying out this technique and joining the swap!

I would love scraps. I am in the process of making a charm quilt and need scraps. You have beautiful fabric too. Nice blog.

I would love some scraps. Anything boyish or gender neutral would be perfect as that is what my fabric hoard is lacking, but I would appreciate anything. This is so sweet of you!

How exciting it would be to dive into all those scraps. I have just sent out a note to all my girl guides asking for scraps to create some projects. Do you have any left? Would love to hear from you, Rikki - rikki@miorganictouch.com
Thanks
